Ceiling fan falls down: child seriously injured at a school in Vadodara- Irresponsible Management

Vadodara, 13th February 2020 . A shocking incident at Bright Day School, Vasna Road, that a ceiling fan fell upon the head of a class 3rd student causing serious head injury ! Two more students got injuries but by God’s grace there was no loss of life.
Although the student was rushed to the hospital by the school authorities, taking up the responsibility of treatment, but can that really make up for the damage? Can that remove the mental fear that could have set in the mind of a little one or can they take away the pain and suffering which the kido is going through? And is it so normal that a ceiling fan drops down ?? Can it be termed an accident ? Well it shows the careless and irresponsible management at Bright Day School Vadodara, that put life of little students at a risk!
Parents pay heavy fees for sending their children to this renowned school, but the poor management puts their lives at stake ! The school administration should be asked to provide the maintenance record of the classroom ceiling fans . In fact they should produce certificates about electric and other safety standards before there is another drastic incident . Providing such evidence on paper and a cross check by Government authorities will help remaining the fear psychosis from the minds of young students
and their parents also, which is so important. As seen from the comments on social media posts , many students have written that they always had the fear seeing the poor maintenance in the school, and the school authorities are definitely answerable as to why have they been so careless with the safety of children.
In some schools there are lot many glass windows, doors and partitions which is risky as kids may be playing around. My own son had dashed in through one such window in the very same school a few years ago; thank God that he got only minor bruises here and there. A school building should be constructed keeping the little children in mind and it is a matter of concern. I strongly suggest that Bright Day School Vadodara needs thorough inspection regarding the safety and maintenance standards, also about management and administration in the school . Do they at all have professional Management people in their staff or else they could be taking that extra work from the teachers who are supposed to teach their particular subject and may have no training or knowledge about management. This should be ascertained by all the parents for the safety of their little children and I call upon them to get into action please.
